Evander Kane may throw a wrench into Edmonton Oilers trade deadline plans

The clock continues to tick down to the March 7th trade deadline and it appears that Oilers forward Evander Kane may spoil the team's trade deadline plans as he may be ready to return sooner rather than later.
Ryan Rishaug of TSN reported that the doctors who have been looking after Kane are evaluating his progress and may decide to clear him before the end of the season which will block the Oilers from using his cap space during the trade deadline.

The Oilers had decided to shut down Kane prior to the season starting as he had undergone abdominals surgery which sidelined him for months. Several weeks ago, it was announced that he also had knee surgery which kept him longer out of the lineup.
Many have felt that the Oilers would keep Kane sideline for the entire year as this is a trick that many teams have done over the past number of years by keeping a star on the long-term injury reserve and then activating them for the playoffs.
But this appears not to be the case and it's likely he will be back on the ice sooner rather than later which will bode well for the Oilersas they will be looking for a type of player that Kane can be with his physicality and grip along with his scoring touch.
Oilers deadline plans changing by the day
Rumors continue to swirl around the Oilers as the trade deadline offers new players and names connected to the team as the Oilers continue to spiral in this late season slump. It seems that their strategy is also changing as several pundits have stated that picking a goalie may be off the table.
The team may be looking more towards a defenseman and a middle six to bottom six forward Who will help the team improve their secondary scoring. It will come down to how much money the team will have available and if Kane's money is not then this trade deadline may be short and uneventful.
