Are the Florida Panthers jinxed?
Is winning the President's Trophy really an advantage for an NHL team? Examining the success rate of previous winners of the trophy reveals some cause for concern.
Take a look at the Boston Bruins this year's winners, they were knocked out in the 1st round, much like the Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, and Tampa Bay Lightning before them. It seems to be a legitimate curse and here Gary Bettman is acknowledging it!
For instance, it took the Florida Panthers a whole year to recover from their win and make it to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Yet, as we observe the current Finals, it appears the Panthers are still plagued by bad luck, possibly due to the lingering effects of the so-called curse, as they were unable to secure a victory in Game 1.
