Sidney Crosby Compliments Connor McDavid's Game
In the past, Sidney Crosby dominated the NHL as one of the best players the league had ever seen. It is, however, becoming apparent that Sidney Crosby's production is decreasing as time goes by.
His respect for his peers' game, however, continues to grow, as he complimented the continued success of Connor McDavid.
"I didn't think 150 was going to be in the cards for him but he found a way to get there," Crosby said. "So, I don't think anything is out of the question for him as far as numbers are concerned.
"He just finds a way to find another level time and time again, so I would never bet against him."
In an interview with Crosby, the hockey great said he wouldn't bet against McDavid scoring 170 points this season.
With 153 points last season, McDavid topped his totals from last year, something no one predicted.
As the Oilers continue to strive for the cup, McDavid will undoubtedly attempt to top his point total from last season as well.
Last season, McDavid won the Hart Trophy for the third time in his career and posted his highest point total since Mario Lemieux in 1995-1996 with 161.
"Yeah, I think it's (still) hard to argue that one," Crosby said. "I mean, you've got Nate (MacKinnon) and Leon and some other guys who are right there, but I think (McDavid has) proven that."
Connor has been praised by the future hall of famer before, as he called McDavid the best player in the NHL in 2018.
