Ennis opens his take by grinding away at each point of where the flaws in Skinner's game they are currently and how do not fit with the current mold of the Edmonton Oilers.
He explained that Skinner who has played a long career and has played well over 1000 games does not have the jam and the grittiness to get into the corners to help dig out the puck and put more goals in the net.
Ennis was quite clear that he did not like this signing from the start and even though Skinner is a household name of many NHL fans, it's become obvious that he may not be the proper fit for this team after 22 games, he has scored four goals with three assists for seven points and is a - 9.
Ennis continued his barrage pointing out how he does not help on the forecheck, he also has defensive deficiencies, and he does not skate as fast as he used to. Put all those together and you have a recipe for disaster which appears to be unfolding with the Oilers now.
The saving grace to all of this is that Jackson only signed him to a one-year deal worth $3,000,000 who holds a no movement clause but after this season is over, he will be an unrestricted free agent which means the Oilers will not be tide to a long-term contract.
The summer signing frenzy that the Oilers went on appears to have not gone according to plan as several players have not panned out including Viktor Arvidsson who is currently on injured reserve, Skinner who has been a let down and Adam Henrique who has only scored two goals in 22 games.
It's safe to say that general manager Stan Bowman will continue to seek out help and try to find secondary scoring to help take the pressure off their superstars.
In the meantime, the Oilers will have to continue to work through their issues in hope that things will turn around quickly.
