The Edmonton Oilers lost another frustrating game tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Leon Draisaitl may have taken some frustration out on the referees.

Oilers star Leon Draisaitl has heated argument with referee after faceoff ejection

On ESPN's Broadcast tonight, Leon Draisaitl was seen arguing with the referee while one the bench constantly - even continuing and getting more agitated as the referee skated away. Players and refs argue, but Draisaitl finally snapped when it came to faceoffs.
Draisaitl began arguing after being ejected from yet another faceoff - and if you're an Oilers fan, that's a sight you've become familiar with.
»I covered hockey for 35+ years. I played at a decent level. I was even also a linesman at one point. I am telling you, something here smells. If I were the Oilers I would be crying foul.»

- Kurt Leavins, Edmonton Journal
It's unlikely that there's any real bias against Draisaitl on the faceoff dot, but he does get thrown out at an unbelievable rate.
In today's video, Draisaitl didn't seem to cheat enough to warrant an ejection. However, this is a point that the Oilers superstar has been passionately arguing for years now. It's clear that at least Draisaitl believes he's been ejected too quickly.
At the same time, when it comes to faceoffs - if you're not cheating, you're not trying. Draisaitl is ultra competitive and is trying to give his team any advantage with a faceoff win, and when the losses start to pile up, some frustration may be directed at the referee.
After the Oilers loss to Tampa Bay tonight, players did not speak to media as per their normal routine. In that instance, it's heavily assumed the team held a players only meeting.
Draisaitl is a passionate player that wears his heart on his sleeve. When tensions start to rise around him, it's a sign they're not satisfied with their game. The Oilers have the ability to bounce back, now they just need to pit the tools together to do so.
