Oilers announce last minute line changes, major change with Jeff Skinner amid trade rumours
The Edmonton Oilers are playing the second half of a back to back against the rebuilding Chicago Blackhawks, and Coach Knoblauch is taking the opportunity to majorly mix up the lines.
Jeff Skinner played one of his best games as an Oiler yesterday, but still had little ice time and appeared to be frustrated on the bench. Now, he's been rewarded with a big promotion.

Skinner has found himself on the fourth line and a healthy scratch multiple times this season, but with a bit of decent play, earned a call up to play alongside Leon Draisaitl's wing. Now, his test will be to actually convert on some offensive chances.
Additionally, Coach Knoblauch split up Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl on the top line, moved Arvidsson up to the top line, and Podkolzin back up to the second line.
This is clearly a reward for quality play from Jeff Skinner in the last few matchups. Coach Knoblauch praised Skinner's efforts lately, especially with noted improvements on the defensive side of the puck.
I think he's been generating quality chances, quality shots, we want to give him an opportunity to move up in the lineup.

Jeff Skinner only has 9 goals and 17 points through 47 games, a major disappointment after initial expectations that he could score a minimum of 30 goals in the Oilers offensive system.
This vote of confidence from the Oilers coach should give Skinner a major boost, and hopefully he can begin to capitalize tonight on a weaker opponent in the Chicago Blackhawks.
