NHL Alumni Association Announces a Passing That The Hockey Community Mourns
Heartbreaking news has emerged from the hockey world as the NHL Alumni Association announced the passing of former NHLer Joe Kowal, who was just 67 years old.
Drafted 33rd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1970 NHL Draft, Kowal had a brief stint of 22 games with the Sabres, contributing 5 points over 2 seasons before moving on to a four-year career in the AHL.
The NHL Alumni Association expressed their deep condolences to Joe's family, friends, and former teammates during this difficult time. The hockey community mourns the loss of one of its own.
