The Edmonton Oilers are making swift moves ahead of the NHL Entry Draft to strengthen their prospect pool.

They have no hesitations about trading picks and have just acquired former New York Rangers prospect, Jayden Grubbe, for a fifth-round pick.

After trading for Jayden Grubbe today, #LetsGoOilers signed him to 3 year Entry Level Deal:

NHL Salary 775K
GP Bonus 57.5K
Signing Bonus 92.5K
Minors 80K

Cap Hit $867.5K, AAV 925K

Grubbe is a 20-year-old player who has scored 39 goals and made 95 assists in 194 WHL games.

He also has valuable WHL playoff experience, having scored 4 goals and made 16 assists in 22 playoff games.

Although Grubbe was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 3rd round, 65th Overall in 2021, he had never come to terms with the team.

This acquisition leaves the Oilers with only 3 picks for the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, and the clock is ticking to sign Grubbe. They have until Thursday, the 1st of the month, to sign him, or he will have the chance to re-enter the draft.
