Jesse Puljujarvi, a former Edmonton Oiler, was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes during the NHL trade deadline. However, his time with the Hurricanes has been far from ideal, as he has found himself healthy scratched and left out of the lineup for many games. This has raised questions about his future in the NHL, with speculation growing that he may choose to return to his native Finland.

Puljujarvi's lack of success at the NHL level has been a lingering issue throughout his career. In the recent playoffs, he only played in seven games and was notably absent in crucial moments, including the second-round series against the New Jersey team and the third-round loss to Florida.

With a qualifying offer of $3 million required to retain his rights, it seems unlikely that the Hurricanes will go down that path. Instead, a cheaper one-year deal could be a potential option. However, the possibility of Puljujarvi returning to Karpat in Finland cannot be overlooked, and several sources have reported that he is considering it.

The uncertainty surrounding Puljujarvi's future adds another layer to his already tumultuous journey in the NHL. Only time will tell where he ultimately ends up and whether he can fulfill his potential at the highest level of the game.
