Connor McDavid to be paired with Celebrity Co-Captain at All Star Game
At this year's NHL All Star Game in Toronto, the league has really tried to step up their game. In recent years, the event has been on a considerable and constant decline, and this year, the NHL enlisted the help of McDavid to add many new elements, including the presence of celebrity co-captains at the All Star Game.
This year, the NHL will bring back the draft, where team captains and their celebrity co-captains will select their respective teams. Connor McDavid will be paired with comedian and actor Will Arnett, with Leon Draisaitl helping out as an alternate captain.
In addition, Auston Matthews will be paired with Justin Bieber, Nathan Mackinnon will be paired with Tate McRae, and the Hughes brothers will be paired with Michael Buble.
Along with the the celebrity co-captains at the draft, the All-Star Weekend will feature a revamped skills competition with a million dollar prize on the line, hopefully incentivizing players to truly give it their all.
Hopefully with these changes the All-Star Game becomes much more of a tolerable watch for the fans and experience for the players.
