Corey Perry avoids nachos on ice, scores goal against Washington Capitals
While skating down the wing and avoiding the nachos already on the ice, Corey Perry opened up a for a one-timer and was teed up by
Leon Draisaitl. Perry fired a great shot home, and the Capitals were immediately up in arms.
Capitals goalie
Logan Thompson immediately gestured to the referee about the nachos on the ice. The debris on the ice totally could've distracted him as he tracked the puck from Draisaitl to Perry.
When seeing the play from an overhead angle, the nachos would appear almost to be a fake out for Thompson. Perry also showed some real awareness to dodge the debris and get the shot off.
It's a wonder that play wasn't stopped prior to the goal - and it's pretty surprising that the goal was allowed to stand given the nachos on the ice.
