The Edmonton Oilers face some interesting choices as the team recalled Matthew Savoie Who may force the team sit someone especially if he works out.

If Matt Savoie works out in the Oilers lineup, who comes out night one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs?

Both hosts Liam Horrobin and Tyler Yaremchuk discussed the notion if Savoie were to have a great stretch of games who would be the player that would have to come out. Horrobin feels that forward Viktor Arvidsson would be the one to sit out considering how poorly he's played.

Several changes could be on the way for Oilers lineup

He also explained that sense Arvidsson has one year left on his deal and he's well over $1 million a year the team would like to keep him happy to an extent which means the most likely player to sit out is recently acquired forward Kasperi Kapanen.

Kapanen what is taken by the Oilers off waivers from the Saint Louis Blues and in his time with the Oilers, he has played 32 games, scoring five goals with five assists for 10 points and has eight penalty minutes.
Another angle that will come into play is the return Evander Kane who has been skating over the past couple of days and is around 60% of health.
This will put the Oilers at another critical decision especially if Savoie works out alongside Leon Draisaitl. During the game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Savoie looked good and had one assist.

Next few weeks will resolve remaining lineup questions

The Oilers are now on their five-game road trip where they lost 6-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers general manager Stan Bowman will be looking over his roster and continue discussions on who will remain and who will be traded as many expect the Oilers to be all in for another Stanley Cup run.
Even if he doesn't make drastic changes at the deadline, the Oilers will have a good sense of who will be part of the roster for the playoff run which will likely include Savoie as it's unlikely the Oilers will trade him at the deadline as he will be part of their future going forward.
The next three games of their road trip will have the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers all in line as the Oilers will get out of the cold and head into the sun for some warmth and hopefully some wins.
