The 2023-2024 season for Evander Kane is not going very well for him as he was expected to regain his form and to be a force on the offense alongside McDavid.
After recovering from his grizzly injury last year to his wrist, he has been a shadow of himself and has been rumoured to having an undisclosed injury. Prior to tonight's game against the Seattle Kraken, a video was taken as the Oilers walked down their hall when it caught a glimpse of Kane's issue. Kane is walking with a clear limp down the hall, and it doesn't look good.
As a fierce competitor as he is, it would be wise for the Oilers to tell Kane to sit down and nurse his injury as he will be vital to the team success later down the stretch as the schedule gets tougher and the team prepares for the playoffs.
Since Coach Knoblauch has arrived, Kane's ice time has been dropping noticeably and he has been juggled around several lines as they have tried to find a proper fit.
But after seeing this video, it's clear that he has bigger issues going on rather than a confidence problem. Hopefully, he can see to reason, and he can take himself out of the lineup and heal his wounds.
The Oilers will take on the Kraken tonight, January 18th at 9:00pm eastern.
