Connor McDavid gets revenge on Carson Soucy for cross check to face
In game four, Connor McDavid took a nasty crosscheck to the face from Carson Soucy. Now back from a one game suspension, McDavid was looking to get him on the ice.
The final moments of game four got ugly when Soucy and Zadorov tag-teamed Connor McDavid with a brutal cross check to the face. For the play, Soucy was suspended one game, and now is making his return to the lineup in game 5.
McDavid was skating right behind him, likely seeing his number and realized that he had an opportunity to get away with a cheap shot to get revenge against Soucy. From behind, McDavid reached around and caught Soucy with a light tap on the face. Canucks fans are freaking about the non-call, but it was far from egregious contact. With the history too, the refs were right to let this go one time.
McDavid also responded on the scoresheet, breaking his small scoring slump with two assists through the first two periods of play. The Oilers need to defend their 3-1 lead heading into the third period to force a game seven, and keep their Stanley Cup dreams alive in a Cup or Bust season.
