The Edmonton Oilers are dealing with several injuries with their forwards right now, and they may have avoided a disastrous situation with a close call for Connor McDavid at practice today.

Viktor Arvidsson has been out for over a month with injury, and Zach Hyman took a slap shot to the face last game which broke his nose.

However, the biggest concern for fans will obviously be Connor McDavid. According to Daniel Nugent-Bowman, McDavid collided with Darnell Nurse at practice and left for the remainder of the day.

The positive news is that Knoblauch had not received an update from the Team Doctor, which he believes is a good sign for his condition. The Oilers don't seem overly worried, so hopefully, McDavid won't miss any game time with injury.

Connor McDavid Hurt at Oilers Practice, Arvidsson Nearing Return to Play

The Swedish forward practiced for the second straight time with the team after missing a month with an undisclosed injury. Finally, Knoblauch has said that he'll be able to return before the holiday break.

Knoblauch had Arvidsson practicing on the first line at practice, but he's more likely to return to play in the bottom six at first.

Zach Hyman took a slap shot to the face from Evan Bouchard last night, and despite breaking his nose, he's expected to play every game with a bowl on his helmet. That's the tough hockey player stereotype on full display.

The Edmonton Oilers will be back in action Thursday night against the Boston Bruins, continuing their stretch of games against high quality teams. After last bight's disappointing loss to the Panthers in the Cup Final Rematch game, the Oilers will be eager to get back out there.

More details and analysis to come.
