The Dallas Stars arena operations took a friendly jab at the Oilers after yesterday's 4-1 win by playing a song Oilers fans will recognize.

Some fans recorded the Stars arena playing the Oilers goal song after they took the victory yesterday afternoon. It's a trend the Stars arena has done for a long time, but last playoffs they started a controversy with Oilers fans over it.

After winning a playoff game last year, the Stars arena staff did their usual taunt gimmick and played La Bamba after beating the Oilers. It caused a significant stir with fans in Edmonton, who understand the history of the Oilers using that song. It's memory of Joey Moss, a late dressing room attendant and superfan of the Oilers that made a great impact on Edmonton. When Dallas played it last year, many felt it was disrespectful.

The Stars arena staff issued a sincere apology and explained that it is just a trend that the team does, and then backed that action up with significant charitable action for the community in Edmonton.

Honestly, it's nice to see the Stars continue their gimmick and also correct themselves to stay away from mocking the Oilers connection to La Bamba. They were hungry to get their lick back after being eliminated in the conference finals, and credit to them, they won. It's very possible that the Oilers and Stars will meet again in the playoffs this year, and they've begun to develop a heated rivalry.

The Oilers will have another big test next time out on Tuesday, when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes back at home in Edmonton.
