Oilers fans across the country we're hoping for a standout trade deadline by general manager Ken Holland as the team is close to competing for a Stanley Cup and only needed a few extra pieces to complete the puzzle.

After acquiring Adam Henrique, Troy Stecher and Sam Carrick it must be one of the most underwhelming returns the Oilers have seen in years.

Many pundits including the TSN panel have weighed in on the trade deadline so far and many feel the Oilers may not fare well in the playoffs.

It's becoming clear that Holland did not want to keep up with the arms race that was happening throughout the Pacific division as the Vancouver Canucks and the Vegas golden Knights continued to shore up their team and acquire big game players who will help the team potentially win.

This year was not the case to be timid with Colorado, Vegas, Vancouver, constantly adding pieces who will make a difference during their clashes in the playoffs.

The fan base is on fire as they have taken to X formerly known as Twitter to display their anger for what Holland has not done.

As fans and pointed out their defence core is still not up to par towards the other teams and their goaltending in my view is still their biggest weakest point.

With a few hours remaining in the deadline, Holland could pull a rabbit out of his hat and do a trade that would blow the doors off of Rogers place but it seems like he's more interested in being timid and conservative rather than making the splash is needed for the Oilers to push through.
