Edmonton Oilers provide look inside scouting meeting before trade deadline
The Edmonton Oilers recently released a new behind the scenes look at their scouting operations before the trade deadline in their new edition of the Drop on Oilers+.
Most of the Oilers scouts' discussion was around acquiring forwards, which does line up with previous inside reports that they're interested in adding a versatile forward in trade.

The Oilers provided a look into their mid-season scouting meetings where pro scouts met to lay out their trade deadline targets to track through the season. On what was captured on video, their pro scouts only refer to forward targeted

Interestingly, the scouts on video only seemed to discuss depth forward additions for their lineup, potentially a versatile player who could move up and down the lineup and kill penalties.
The scouts' comments are interesting to hear, but they are likely edited to be about a slew of different players.

Still, it seems the Oilers front office staff is bent on acquiring a forward at the upcoming trade deadline. Most recently, the team has been linked to Blackhawks forward Ryan Donato.
It's possible, probably even likely that the Oilers edited out more comments about defence and goaltending trade targets - or at least fans will hope so.
