Facing elimination on the road in Edmonton, things got much harder for the Los Angeles Kings when Mikey Anderson went down with injury. After accidentally colliding with McDavid, Anderson was really shaken up.

In a total freak play, McDavid collided with Anderson and the Kings defender clearly felt the worst of it. McDavid had hopped out of the way of Anze Kopitar, only to be jumping into contact with Anderson at a decent speed. McDavid showed off his lowkey physical strength a little bit, as he barely even moved from the contact.

Completely not expecting a hit at the moment, Anderson was really shaken up, and stayed down for several moments before the trainer came out. Fortunately, Anderson was able to get to his feet, but was forced to leave the game right away.

Losing Mikey Anderson could be a significant blow for the Kings, not just in this series but in the rest of game 5 as the team faces elimination. Fortunately for them, Anderson was able to make a comeback some time after the collision - hopefully, he's not playing through an injury. While he was gone, Doughty played an incredible 7 minutes out of 12.

Anderson has been playing first pairing minutes with Drew Doughty, and has made an offensive impact with 1 goal and 2 assists in the series. Without Anderson, the Oilers need to pounce quickly, and punch their ticket to the second round tonight.
