In the video, Stauffer is seated at a slot machine in a Casino, playing and minding his own business before he's harassed by a random fan.
The fan approaches Stauffer with a camera, asking him to borrow five dollars, and laughing.
Stauffer grabbed the camera to shut down the interaction, and the fan backed down immediately. The fan seemed to claim he was just kidding, and Stauffer then asked what the fan's name was.
Bob Stauffer was entirely within his right to shut down the fan. He's out enjoying his life, and doesn't need to be heckled by fans in that moment - especially with a camera in their face.
The fan behind the video has done this with many other famous people while they're in the City of Edmonton, which makes it come off even more as a disingenuous attempt to go viral.
The Edmonton Oilers are incredibly fortunate to have the fantastic in-depth reporting from Bob Stauffer: his radio show and television appearances are always hits and he's an insider that's truly rooting for the success of the team.
Stauffer's even always been great interacting with fans in Edmonton, like the entire Oilers organization has been. Approaching people in public and shoving a camera in their face isn't the way to do it.
Stauffer's always had a sense of humour too, that's made for a few hilarious moments for Oilers fans - like his airport walk or skating in Seattle video.
Recently, Stauffer got Oilers fans excited by reports that the team is most interested in trading for an off the radar defenceman. That opens up the Oilers to the most wild trade proposals.
Oilers fans do appreciate Stauff for his incredible work covering the team, and this video isn't representative of how most Oilers fans behave.
