There's nothing worse to write about as a sports Journalist then heartbreaking news like this. Sunday the Metro Jets of the United States Hockey League have shared the tragic news that defenceman Braydin Lewis has passed away.
The 19-year-old Lewis had been fighting a battle with cancer for quite some time now and according to the Jets he was surrounded by family when he passed away late on Saturday night.
Lewis was becoming a likely NHL defenseman but unfortunately Lewis never got to live out that dream because of cancer.
"After his diagnosis last summer, he was determined to return for his third season," wrote the Jets on Sunday. "Not only did he return, but played while undergoing treatment. Lewey's strength and willingness was an inspiration to the team and he showed up to support his teammates at every opportunity."
On behalf of Oilers Daily we want to give our sincerest condolences to the entire Lewis family, may he rest in peace...
