In a nutshell, it seems that Kane invited a younger San Jose player, along with the player's girlfriend, to their home during the COVID-19 pause. It was explained that a substance was consumed, which led to the teammate running out the door and being missing for several hours.
Sharks management attempted to address Kane's behaviour to see if it could be curbed or stopped, but no action was taken.
