Connor McDavid Has Shocked The Hockey World Once Again: Enters The History Books

Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has once again cemented his place among the NHL's elite with his latest accomplishment. McDavid became the fastest players this season to score 60 goals, achieving the feat in just 62 games. The last player to do so was the legendary Mario Lemieux in the 1995-96 season.

The 25-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, leading the NHL in points and goals scored. McDavid's incredible pace has helped the Oilers to climb up the Western Conference standings, as they look to make a deep run in the playoffs.

McDavid's nearest competitors in this feat were Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who scored his 60th goal last season in 73 games, and Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, who took 76 games in the 2007-08 season to reach 60 goals. Tampa Bay Lightning's Steven Stamkos is the only other active player to achieve the feat, scoring 60 goals in 82 games during the 2011-12 season.
