Longtime ESPN announcer John Anderson, made a racist comment towards Las Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Zach Whitecloud. In Game 3 against the Edmonton Oilers, on Monday night.

The announcers actions, caused an uproar from fans all over social media. As he said: «Zach Whitecloud, it's a great name if you're a toilet paper!»

John Anderson, put out a statement apologizing to Whitecloud for the incident, and said he hopes to have the opportunity to apologize to Zach in person. Which he ended up getting the chance to do, on Tuesday morning.

"This is totally on me and I sincerely apologize to Zach, the Golden Knights, their fans and everyone else for what I said. It's my job to be prepared and know the backgrounds of the players and I blew it. I will be reaching out to the team to personally apologize and hope to have the opportunity to speak to Zack as well.»

Zach Whitecloud, was very kind and understanding towards Anderson when he apologized.

Zach Whitecloud, is the first Indigenous NHL player from the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, and has inspired some many young kids from that area to play hockey themselves.

This is another bad look for ESPN, adding to the long list. John Anderson, should definitely be suspended or fired. As many announcers and people in the press, have been let go on many occasions for incidents like this.
