Super Bowl Sunday saw many afternoon games including the Montreal Canadiens hosting the Edmonton Oilers from the Bell Centre in Montreal.

The Habs weren't nice hosts, spanking the Oilers 6-2. However Sunday also saw the Canadiens lose one of their fan favourites in rookie defenceman Arber Xhekaj.

He has brought the Montreal Canadiens toughness, a kind the Canadiens haven't had since Chris Knuckles Nilan was a Hab. During Sunday's game, Oilers rookie Vincent Desharnias tried to spark up the Oilers team by fighting Xhekaj, but in what should have been a good fight ended abruptly.

During the fight after Xhekaj threw a haymaker he would appear to drop to his knees and stopped fighting. After the fight Xhekaj immediately went to the locker room with a shoulder injury.

Desharnias spoke about the event after the game. According to him, the injury of Xhekaj is only bad luck. He did not feel, during the duel, that his rival was injured. And he feels sorry, this interview is going viral as it really shows the kind of person he is.

It was going fast. He didn't say anything. We fought and he fell. I stopped immediately. I saw him come out of the ice, he looked like his shoulder or his arm was hurting. You don't want to see that. I would never play to hurt a player.

It's just bad luck. I knew his reputation. He's fought some tough guys. He's punched a lot of the big ones. He's doing well. He's tough. But whether it's Xhekaj or Josh Anderson, I wanted to provide a spark and bring emotion." - Vincent Desharnais

Like Xhekaj in Montreal, Desharnias is becoming a fan favourite in Edmonton, his response speaks volumes about Desharnias's character
