As of the start of the NHL regular season, the Edmonton Oilers have a record of 2-5-1. The team has struggled from the start, so a good win against Calgary on Sunday should put them in a more positive light, right?

False! Suddenly, fans are blaming another person in the Oilers organization for the team's problems.

There is one of them who posits that Connor McDavid is the real problem in Edmonton.

Results of the «friends of Connor» experiment:

Nurse got overpaid
Drake Caggiula's 2nd tour
Devin Shore Director of Vibes
Connor Brown TBD
Milan Lucic signing here

I mean, it's all worth it if Leon stays, but so far McGM's player personnel moves aren't exactly sparkling.

According to them, Connor McDavid's friends get all the best deals from the team, including a laundry list of players currently in Edmonton who were brought into the organization.

For bringing Connor Brown, Milan Lucic, Drake Caggiula, and Devin Shore to Oil Country, they put Connor on Blast in the "Friends of Connor" experiment.

As well, Darnell Nurse getting paid instead of realizing that he alone is one of the team's best defensemen.

never seen a fanbase be so weird about their generational talent like this
@EdmontonOilers
plz start winning it's getting weird

The Oilers fans forget Connor McDavid isn't the general manager and does not have the final say in how the team's talent is chosen.

It is everyone's goal that the team wins, but let's not forget that Ken Holland is also on the hot seat currently.

With two goals and nine points in six games for the Oilers, it is not as though McDavid is not already doing his best for the team.

There's criticism and sometimes, there's clownery.
