Cam Talbot was informed by the Senators before the season ended that he would not be re-signed, and would become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.

Talbot's tenure in Ottawa didn't meet the Senators' expectations, as he played 36 games and had a record of 17-14-2. He maintained 2.93 goals against average and a .898 save percentage, with one shutout.

Talbot played for six NHL organizations, including the Edmonton Oilers from 2015 to 2019. During his time in Edmonton, his performance as a starter fluctuated significantly, at times excelling and at other times serving as a backup.

It's announced that the Los Angeles Kings have decided to bring him in to help fill the gap left by Cal Petersen's move to the Flyers.

It remains how Talbot will fare in LA, as the team is currently recalibrating their defence and going through a mini-retooling phase. The Kings are relying on three goaltenders for the upcoming year: Pheonix Copley, Cam Talbot, and David Rittich, all of whom have been signed.
