The Edmonton Oilers decided to trade forward Kailer Yamamoto to the Detroit Red Wings, which didn't last very long.

As the Red Wings bought-out Yamamoto's contract, putting him on the free agent market.

He has now officially found a new home with an ex-Edmonton Oiler.

To reveal his new destination, view the full contract signing here:

Allowing the Seattle Kraken to acquire and sign him to a one-year contract with a $1.5 Million AAV.

He'll be Jordan Eberle's potential linemate as Eberle has transition from RW/C in the prior year.

The 5.8, 153 pound forward will be heading closer to home, as he has agreed to terms with Dave Hasktol and the Seattle Kraken.

Yamamoto has played in 244 career NHL games, accumulating 118 points in that time with 50 goals and 68 assists. He has spent his whole career in Edmonton where he was under a lot of pressure to succeed, his best year was in 2021-22, where he played in 81 games, had 20 goals with 21 assists, for a total of 41 points.

A fresh start will be good for him in a Stanley Cup contending Seattle Kraken team, where he should be able to get 3rd-4th line minutes and not have all eyes on him.
