As Captain's Skate takes place in Edmonton, Leon Draisaitl was asked about a couple of rookies on the team.

As the team is in the mindset of Cup or Bust, the league took notice when the team entered practice mode.

Practices provide teammates with an opportunity to assess their strengths and weaknesses, as well as to see who will fight for a spot on the team.

Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg were complimented on their good game by Leon Draisaitl.

Dylan Holloway.. looks good. Broberg looks really good right now.

With their window of contention slowly closing, the Edmonton Oilers need both of them to make huge strides forward.

As for Broberg, he was taken 8th overall in the first round of the 2019 NHL draft by the team.

In the event that Holloway or Broberg decide to break out this season, Ken Holland and the rest of the team would be thrilled. Developing a defenseman takes a while, but if Holloway takes a big step forward, he could be a top-6 player for the Oilers.

It would be great to see Broberg fulfill the expectations of the team, and he would also be a good trade bait if he took the next step forward.

Oilers lacked secondary scoring last season, but if Holloway develops into a solid top-nine player, they will significantly benefit.
