Oilers could look at this depth piece
Recently, Tyler Motte was part of the New York Rangers organization when they traded him for Julien Gauthier and a 7th-round pick from the Ottawa Senators.
Motte is currently a free agent seeking a new contract and, as a checking depth piece, could be a valuable addition to any team throughout the season.
With Kostin and Bjugstad leaving, there are positions available in the bottom six and Motte could be a great fit for the team.
Having started his career in Chicago, Motte will undoubtedly be scouting for his next landing spot.
With $5.6 million in cap space available, Ken Holland could potentially offer Motte a discount and bring him on board.
