Elliotte Friedman has mentioned one name particular, who he states the Oilers have interest in, and that name is Noel Acciari. The veteran forward becomes an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and would make for a very low-risk, high-reward situation for the Oilers.
He has 12 points in 31 games but plays his game at a similar momentum than Evander Kane, who is still months away from returning.
The Oilers could be seeking for Acciari at the deadline to improve their bottom-six. He excels in the faceoff circle, where the Oilers' bottom six have trouble. He is also physically strong and very reliant on himself. Acciari has already registered 91 hits this season, 35 shot blocks, is a mainstay on the penalty kill, and begins 61 percent of his own end draws. Additionally, he brings the scoring component that the Oilers have traditionally struggled to achieve from the back end of their lineup.
Expect conversations about Acciari to intensify if the Blues continue to finish outside the postseason picture.
