As Oilers fans wait to see if injured superstar Leon Draisaitl will make his return next week, the Oilers received news today that 23-year-old centerman Klim Kostin sustained a foot injury during the Oilers' game against the Winnipeg Jets.

In the remaining moments of the game, Kostin was trying to clear the puck out of his zone when he was checked heavily into the boards. His foot was jammed against the boards and he had to be helped off the ice, it looked very ugly..

With a playoff spot hanging in the balance, and the Oilers are trying to make a push these injuries certainly make it tougher for them to reach that goal. The time will tell the sea if this injury is serious or just day-to-day.

Jay Woodcroft is expected to provide an update tomorrow, as today is an off-day for the NHL.

Kostin was born in Penza Russia, he was drafted by the Saint Louis Blues in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft first-round 31st overall. He carries a 6' 3» frame and 215 pounds
