The Edmonton Oilers Make a Notable Coaching Staff Hiring
The Edmonton Oilers have made a notable addition to their minor-league coaching staff, announcing Nate DiCasmirro as the new assistant coach for the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, according to an official team release. DiCasmirro's appointment completes the Condors' coaching lineup, taking over from former NHL forward Josh Green, who held the position for one year.
At 44 years old, DiCasmirro brings experience from his previous two seasons with the AHL's Iowa Wild. However, his contract with Minnesota, the parent club of Iowa, was not renewed this summer. Prior to coaching, DiCasmirro enjoyed a successful 17-year pro hockey career, playing 401 AHL games between 2002 and 2008.
