The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) has announced an impressive investment of over $17 million into Oil Country during the 2022-23 NHL season. This achievement is attributed to the outstanding support and generosity of the people of Alberta.
Community Impact and Gratitude
Corey Smith, EOCF Board Chair, expressed gratitude for the remarkable support: "The unwavering support and generosity of Albertans has enabled the EOCF to invest more than $17 million back into Oil Country this season, making a significant difference for thousands of vulnerable community members." The funds have contributed to enhancing accessibility to hockey for kids, delivering vital programs to the community's most vulnerable members, and offering timely assistance during critical moments.
Smith extended his appreciation to supporters, charitable partners, and contributors: "Whether it was through volunteering, charitable donations, or purchasing 50/50 tickets throughout the Oilers season and playoff run, I want to say thank you for your support."
EOCF's Ongoing Commitment
Since its establishment in 2001, the EOCF has remained dedicated to supporting the success of Oil Country and its community. The foundation's core objectives include fostering hockey's growth among boys and girls, collaborating with organizations serving Edmonton's downtown community to address vulnerabilities, and providing aid during community challenges and crises.
