The fallout continues to be felt across the province of Alberta. A major arena project and a land deal were announced by the Calgary Flames, the Saddledome and the city of Calgary.

With the price tag over a billion dollars and hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer dollars being involved in supporting this project, the city of Edmonton feels a bit slighted as no taxpayer dollars were used or offered to help build Roger's place a few years ago.

Mayor Amarjeet Sohi explained his thoughts on this deal for Calgary and what he intends to do to help Edmonton seek out some funds to possibly balance out some of this.

Sohi is looking to speak to the new premier once the election is complete to seek out $180 million in upgrades to the Commonwealth Stadium as well as other cultural centres in Edmonton that could use some changes.

He expressed his happiness for the city of Calgary for acquiring this kind of money from the government, however, it appears he wants to make this a goal for him to help the city acquire more funds to improve the quality of life and make sure Edmonton gets its fair share.
