As part of the trade for Nick Bjugstad, Michael Kesselring, and a third-round pick in 2023, Cam Dineen was acquired.

His development has taken place in the AHL since then, and he was in Tuscon before being traded to the Edmonton Oilers.

By promoting Vincent Desharnais and Philip Broberg to Edmonton, Dineen filled an AHL need.

First and foremost, Dineen is primarily an offensive-defenseman who produced 4-31-35 in 50 games for Tucson and 2-10-12 in nine games for Bakersfield.

Despite Dineen's experience at an NHL level, he has yet to make the big leap for a reason we need to address. There is nothing wrong with his offensive abilities, skating skills, or passing skills, as those are solid skills.

Despite his great offensive skills, Dineen will need to continue to improve his defensive game in order to reach the NHL, as he can make the jump if he is hard to play against in the defensive zone, finishes his checks, and stays in position in the defensive zone.
