Nela Lopuanová, a rising female athlete who displayed great potential in her debut at the world championship last year, has been performing exceptionally well in higher-level competitions. Unfortunately, a video recording captured her as the victim of a brutal blindside hit by Dominik Halaj during a recent under 16 boys championship match.

Absolutely brutal blindside hit on Nela Lopuanová.
Dominik Halaj received 2 min for charging. Nela seems ok. She's out there in the 3rd. #U16BoysChampionship

In the latter part of the second period, Halaj charged towards Lopuanová, resulting in a collision that sent her flying through the air. Though her teammates quickly came to her aid, Halaj was given a two-minute minor penalty for the incident. Despite her valiant efforts to bounce back in the third period, Lopuanová was once again knocked down, and unfortunately sustained a serious wrist injury within the first five minutes of play.

#ICYMI Here's where the injury occurred.

After that blindside hit, I don't wanna say she was targeted this game, but it sure seemed like it to me.

In the last boys' match Nela Lopusanova suffered a fractured wrist. Treatment time 6 weeks.
Nela copes with it with a smile.
