Kane is currently recovering from a complex surgery that will keep him off the ice until at least March this season.
On social media today, Kane shared the video from this year's Christmas Shop, and it was an absolutely wonderful scene.
Kids were able to meet Kane and share a cool moment with him, and the Oilers forward hung out while the kids went on their shopping spree.
Kane participates in the charity itself, but began working with the Edmonton Oilers Foundation and multiple more local sponsors to expand the initiative in recent years.
It's a touching gesture to see Kane give directly to kids and their families to help make a good Christmas.
Kane has done this in other cities in his NHL career before, and while missing time with injury back in 2021, he decided to put together the same event in Edmonton. In a TMZ interview last year, Kane explained a bit more about the event.
Kane also isn't the only Oilers making efforts in the community during this holiday season. Connor McDavid recently spoke at a local school as part of a fundraising effort for the Ben Stelter foundation.
Leon Draisaitl and Mattias Ekholm visited multiple Edmonton area hospitals and Ronal McDonald houses as well.
It's great to see the Oilers make these fantastic efforts in the community. The Oilers players and the fans of Oil Country have a special connection unlike most other teams in the NHL, and it's personal moves like these that really mean a lot to the community.
