Hockey players are always known for being some of the toughest athletes in sports, and today Zach Hyman demonstrated just that with his stone cold comments on playing through a broken nose.

Zach Hyman took a slap shot to the face last game from teammate Evan Bouchard, and still returned to play the rest of the contest.

He's now been cleared to continue playing with the bubble helmet, and at practice today, he recounted the painful experience and his willingness to get back on the ice.

»I've broke my nose a bunch of times. This one was a little worse process You shove gauze up there, the hardest part is you can't breathe dealt with that, got it fixed up the next day, missed practice, but feeling good.»

- Zach Hyman

Hyman's face is so clearly swollen, he's got two black eyes, and his nose is covered in a bandage. He's definitely looked better, but he'll still be able to bring his best work ethic.

Zach Hyman Gives Legendary Answer on Playing Through Broken Nose

The Oilers forward seemed to be in light spirits talking about his injury, even saying that re-setting the bone sounded like popping a bag of chips.

Obviously hockey players have played through broken noses before, and Hyman himself even had multiple times. Still, the awe of these athletes pushing through the pain to play never ceases to amaze.

After a slow start to this season which got him snubbed from Team Canada, Hyman is starting to heat up and look like the prolific goal scorer of last year. With 6 goals in his last 7 games, Hyman is on an absolute tear.

Hopefully his production continues with the bubble on tonight against the Boston Bruins on home ice. The Oilers are very fortunate to have Hyman in the lineup.
