NHL players haven't been involved in a best on best tournament for nearly ten years, and at this year's 4 Nations Faceoff, multiple players battled through injuries that will cause them to miss time upon return to their teams.

The Edmonton Oilers sent three players to the 4 Nations tournament, and while there may be some minor health concerns for their players, other teams will likely be hit harder with injuries.

NHL insider reports multiple players inform teams they'll miss time with injury after 4 Nations final

According to an interview with Elliotte Friedman on today's edition of the Real Kyper Show, players have informed teams they'll miss time after the tournament.
During the conversation, Friedman specifically mentioned Brady and Matthew Tkachuk as players that are gutting through significant injuries to play in the 4 Nations Cup tonight.
Both Tkachuk brothers have missed some skates and game time in this tournament with injury - and are still publicly playing through the pain.
Auston Matthews is another USA star that seems to have picked up a minor injury during the tournament too, but will also push through to play tonight's game.
Team Sweden planned to scratch Mattias Ekholm and Viktor Arvidsson after speculation that they were playing through illness and injury respectively, but both players did end up playing. Thankfully, McDavid appears to be fully healthy too.
Although Connor McDavid has been a strong supporter of international hockey and wanting the NHL to return to it, the Oilers captain said once every two years is enough - with one of his reasons being injuries. Players are battling above 100% for their countries, and getting hurt in the process.
I'm not sure you could do this every single year. It's been pretty taxing, obviously you see guys going down, getting hurt. But it goes to show how much guys care about playing for their country.

- Connor McDavid
The entire 4 Nations Faceoff has been a smash success for the NHL. The fans and players are equally invested into the experience, creating a boom for hockey among even casual sports fans. The NHL his a grand slam with this event.
