Fans are unhappy because they sadly saw last night how thin the line is between "chirping" and insulting an opponent. Last night, Anaheim Ducks rookie star Trevor Zegras faced the Arizona Coyotes. He would defeat the Coyotes with a beautiful overtime goal, but that isn't what is now trending.

When Trevor Zegras made the most rude gesture, the heated fight between him and Arizona Coyotes defenseman Troy Stetcher seemed to erupt in flames.

Trevor Zegras turned to face Stetcher and stated, "Your dad's up there watching huh," while pointing up at the sky. It broke Stetcher's heart when his father passed away suddenly a few years ago, and he was furious. ''More furious then i've ever seen a player''.

Troy Stetcher: «He was my first coach and my favourite coach,» Stecher said. «He was my best friend. My dad was always hard on me as a player. He wasn't an asshole or anything, but my dad expected me to work hard and he wasn't going to sugar-coat anything. He was going to tell me the way it was, and I'm thankful for that.»

Peter Stecher, who raised his three kids in Richmond, B.C., before settling in Surrey, died suddenly on June 21 from complications of diabetes. He was 65 years old.

The altercation can be seen below, where it appears Zegras says ''Your dads up there watching'' as he points to the sky. Zegras' own teammates looked disgusted, and Troy Stetcher proceeded to go crazy and yell ''that's f***** up''.

To further confirm Zegras' words, he received a 10-minute misconduct penalty, which doesn't get handed out unless something serious happens.
