During the off-season, the Edmonton Oilers are strategizing to optimize their lineup for the upcoming season.

This may entail making some tough decisions and sacrifices if things don't go as planned for Holland.

On the 32 Thoughts podcast,
@FriedgeHNIC
relays that folks in EDM are worried they might have to move Foegele if they are unable to find a buyer on Yamamoto.

He also thinks it «has to be a 1 year deal» with regards to Bouchard.

In the event that a buyer for Kailer Yamamato cannot be found, the Oilers may need to contemplate moving Warren Foegele, who was not initially on the transfer list.

The flat salary cap has presented significant challenges for many teams, forcing them to be more selective in their choices. Foegele recently signed a 3-year contract with the Oilers at an AAV of $2.75 million.

If Yamamato is traded, it would free up $3.1 million on the cap, which is why Holland is likely feeling anxious as he searches for a team willing to take on the soon-to-be RFA.
