The Vancouver Canucks will visit the Edmonton Oilers for a rematch after tensions boils over in their last match game, and Connor Garland spoke on the expected reception and response from Oilers fans.

Connor McDavid was suspended three games for cross checking Connor Garland, after the Canucks forward pinned down the Oilers captain during play.

Connor Garland plays dumb in response to Oilers fans reaction to McDavid incident

Speaking to media after Canucks practice today, Connor Garland says he doesn't care how Oilers fans will react during their rematch in Edmonton tomorrow.

I do not care. I just try to play each and every day and put forth a good effort. whatever happened, happened. I didn't hurt him or slew foot him. I guess they're upset about the hold. I didn't try to injure him. Whatever comes with that, comes with that.

Garland also downplayed Oilers fans' concern over the suspension to McDavid, and admitted to holding him - which Garland knew would provoke a reaction.

McDavid deserved to be suspended for his illegal cross check, but Garland's ridiculous hold on the Oilers star with seconds left in the game - practically daring the referees to stop the play - was a total sideshow. McDavid had to defend himself and respond.

When the Vancouver Canucks visit the Oilers tomorrow night, Oilers fans will definitely be all over Garland any time he steps on the ice.

Oilers fans already make Rogers Place a difficult place to play for the opposition, but tomorrow night should be an even more animated atmosphere, and Garland is just stirring the pot more with these new comments.
