Connor McDavid has monumental personal day

Today, Edmonton Oilers forward and NHL superstar Connor McDavid will officially marry his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Kyle.

So far, the couple has kept all photos private and out of the media as the event takes place. McDavid and Kyle will be marrying at an event centre in the Muskokas in Ontario, and plenty of friends and teammates have been making social media posts leading up to the event.

Warren Foegele, Philip Broberg, and Dylan Holloway were in town earlier this week, referring to McDavid's wedding as the fans nickname for it - �The Royal Wedding'.

Fans are eagerly awaiting more pictures and video from the wedding, and we'll have it here for you as it comes in. For now, we'll just have to wait to see what they show us later - the couple's privacy is clearly important to them.

The buzz around McDavid's wedding had been incredibly similar to that of Gretzky's wedding in Edmonton back in 1988. Clearly, Oilers fans love to see their superstars in love and happy in their personal lives.

Taking such a major step in his personal life and future, many hockey fans are wondering how McDavid's wedding will influence him signing a long-term contract next offseason. Along with Leon Draisaitl, who also got engaged this summer, the Oilers superstars are close to long term contracts on and off the ice.
