This season has not gone according to plan for Hall and for the Blackhawks as the team continues to be listless and unable to find any consistency in their game.
Hall, who was a former first overall pick for the Edmonton Oilers had signed with the Blackhawks as a veteran leader who would help newcomer Connor Bedard - guiding him on how to play the game in the NHL and give the team potential scoring that they so badly lacked.
Blackhawks reporters asked Richardson on what the status was between both player and coach, and he feels that they are on good standing and that they would work through any differences if there were any. Head coach Luke Richardson explained that during practice, Hall looked great.
Hall has underproduced this year after coming back from a major injury last season as he has only scored two goals and forests through 17 games. He has not scored a goal since October 22nd which has not helped his case.
The Blackhawks sit last in the NHL with a record of 6-11-1 for only 13 points. With the recent additions in the summer, many felt that the team would do better and potentially move up in the standings but that has not occurred and the Blackhawks remain in the basement.
There have been trade rumors that Hallwould be considered a trade chip at this year's deadline.
Over the next few games, it's likely many will watch the body language and the demeanor between Richardson and hall to see if there's any ill will or this is just a one off.
The Blackhawks will face the lowly Anaheim Ducks on October 19th, and we will see if he is only benched one game or a second game.
