Sportsnet sold the rights to Monday Night NHL games to Amazon for the 2024-25 season and beyond. The Oilers play four times on Monday nights, so fans will have to subscribe to Amazon Prime Video to catch them. All of the games are quality matchups too, including one with the Florida Panthers.
The Amazon Prime broadcast is quickly being put together for the upcoming season. According to reports from YYZ Sports Media on X, the Amazon broadcast will include Andi Petrillo, Adnan Virk, and former Oiler Mark Messier. It's a bit of a nuisance for fans to need to buy another $10 subscription to watch hockey games, but perhaps Amazon will be able to provide a different and entertaining alternative to Sportsnet.
Speaking of Sportsnet, the Canadian giant broadcaster announced their on-air crews for the Edmonton Oilers today. Fans will be excited to hear that the full crew is back, with Gene Principe hosting and Jack Michaels with Louie DeBrusk on play by play. With so many layoffs happening in the sports world, it's great to see the Oilers boys staying together.
Keep an eye out next season for these Monday night Oilers games to be off the television, and moved to a streaming app. You may have to help your parents set it up for next season!
