24 year old Flames forward Martin Pospisil has only played 55 games in his career, and he's already developed a reputation for one of the dirtiest players in the game.

Tonight, he was ejected for an awful elbow to the head. Pospisil stepped up on Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey breaking out the puck to make a hit, but came up hard with his elbow and made direct contact with the head. Pospisil leaped up to make contact with Morrissey, and the hit looked terrible from all angles.

Pospisil was given a major penalty and an ejection for the hit, and it's likely he'll be hearing from the Department of Player Safety as well. Pospisil was suspended three games just over a month ago for a brutal hit on Kraken defenceman Vince Dunn. With this history now in such a short amount of time, he could be looking at a lengthy suspension for this hit.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety is notoriously inconsistent, but they often lay the hammer down for players like Pospisil with a history of dangerous hits in a short amount of time. It's possible Pospisil receives even an in-person hearing for this hit.

Stay tuned for updates tomorrow on the NHL's decision with Pospisil's hit!
