Connor McDavid opens up about a major event in his personal life
The Edmonton Oilers are in a Cup or Bust season this year, and lately have been emerging as the favourites to win it all this year. Regardless of what happens after the playoffs this year however, Connor McDavid will be throwing a massive party as he gets married to his fiancée Lauren Kyle on July 27 of this year.
Now in a recent interview with Greg Wyshynski of ESPN, Connor McDavid opened up about his role in the ongoing wedding planning. McDavid gave a hilarious answering while speaking in the third person.
Connor McDavid is responsible for getting his guys dressed and down the aisle. That is all. We took care of that this morning. Had a call this morning with the guys that'll be dressing us up. So my job is done. Now I just gotta worry about getting 'em down [the aisle].
Connor won't have to deal with any cake tastings, DJ playlists, any sort of decorations - all Lauren wants him to do is pretty much show up.
McDavid wasn't just asked about his wedding in the interview, he was also asked his thoughts on a number of pressing issues around the NHL and in Edmonton. Wyshynski also asked McDavid his thoughts on Woodcroft being fired now a few months removed, and if this win streak would be possible with him as coach instead of Knoblauch.
That's a great question. I think that there were a lot of a lot of things that were going on when we had Jay that were ... I wasn't playing very well. So when his best player's not playing very well, you're gonna struggle. Our goaltending wasn't great. The penalty kill was struggling.
It's too bad that Woody lost his job because we all really did care for him. He's a great person and a great coach. He'll land on his feet somewhere for sure in the NHL.
With all that being said, I think Kris [Knoblauch] has come in and done an amazing job.
It was a fantastic interview between McDavid and Wyshynski, and the rest can be found below:
