The coaching change winning bump has been constant this year as every team who has fired their head coach has seen a surge in wins just after they have been relieved.

These kinds of surges could be for a variety of reasons including dislike towards the old coach, the systems and schemes or just time.

It seems the Oilers have reached the end of their coaching change winning bump as they have lost three straight games in a row after going on an incredible run of 8 straight wins.

As Oiler fans continue to watch and wonder on what the next steps are for their team, it's clearly showing that the roster is completely inconsistent along with the troubles on defence and especially their goaltending.

Players like Stuart Skinner cannot be expected to do all the work and relief will be needed as soon as possible.

There's still time for the Oilers to get things settled as they're about to enter a very soft part of their schedule. In the month of January, they will only be playing 11 games.

This will give the roster plenty of time to heal their wounds and prepare for the onslaught that is February till the end of the season where they will be playing 35 games with eight back-to-back games during that stretch.

Hopefully, Kris Knoblauch and Paul Coffey can come up with an idea to help stop this new bleeding and get back to their winning ways.
