Until they lose McDavid, the Edmonton Oilers will perpetually be buyers until their playoff window closes. The main positions of need for the Oilers always seems to be goaltenders and defencemen, and it seems that they have a new interest on a team who is looking to sell at the deadline. According to a new report, the Oilers are connected to the Adam Boqvist of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Adam Boqvist has missed many games this year, only tallying 5 points in 14 games played, but his main talents lie in his ability to keep the puck out of the net. Boqvist has the second best +/- on the team at +3, and that is very impressive on a team with a combined -29 goal differential.

Boqvist makes $2.6M for the next two years, and the oilers only have $386k in cap space. This means they would have to send a player back to Columbus, and possibly have them retain part of Boqvist's salary, so there will definitely be a pick involved as well if they do choose to acquire him.
